2 New Pieces and Falala Pics

Hi guys!

WELL!!!  Falala ,,,, so far ,,, so ,,, OH MAN!  I'm stinkin' up the place ... ROFLMAO!!!

What can I say.  No one is walking in the door.  When it comes to a show 2 things can happen.  You sell OR you don't.  When you don't you need to figure out why.  Is my art bad?  Is it the wrong type for this crowd?  Is it some thing I'm doing wrong?  What???

When no one walks in the door,,, well!  It's tough to tell how you are doing.  DAMN!  Sorry!!!

So!  Just for fun,,, here are 2 pics of new goodies that are at the show and a few booth shots.

Found chain, scrap wire and a big peace sign.

Key chains from car parts and belt buckles.
The Justin belt buckle was my first sale.

Mostly set up.
Thank goodness for Amy Duncan and her help!!!

What you see when you
walk in from a different door.

All these wind chimes and metal cut outs are
hanging off an old bouncing ball cage that
you would have found in a store.

It has 4 sides and takes up about 4 square feet.
SCHWEET and fast!!!

A lot of good compliments on the clocks!

The dress form and her earrings is always a hit!

So???  What next???  One more day of this and it's gonna be better!!!!  YAY!!!

THANK YOU AMY DUNCAN!  Your help was wonderful, fun and appreciated beyond words!!!  You're a great friend.  Please take a minute and check out her blog.  Just click on her name ... Amy Duncan!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!  Shell

Clocks For Falala

Hi guys!

Here's a few clocks I made for Falala.   Most of the parts are junk, scrap and funky finds.  The clock movements are new.

A sweet little lunch box.

Lady Bug beads.

An old flaggers paddle that my boss gave me
off my truck back in the 1990's.

I covered the handle with a fiber cable marker I
found on the ground in the alley after
Frontier workers left the area.

The numbers for this clock are the same ones you
see on the telephone pedestals along the streets.

Peace VW clock.

I picked up the GTE first aid box at their recycle center
many years ago.  The other box is fantastic!

Time to think of a few more things to make in this last day before Falala!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!  shell

Look What Joy Found!!!

Hi guys!

Check this out!!!

I kid you not when I say ....  JOY FOUND THIS!!!

You see, I was in the garage working on some metal stars I cut out.  All of a sudden I realized I hadn't seen momma in a little while.  So I went looking for my escape artist.  You see when Joy sees some thing on the other side of the fence and she wants it.  She just bull dozes her way through a fence board and RUNS!!!  For a 13 1/2 year old mutt, she can boogie!

I was just calling her when my neighbor brought her home for me.  We were talking in the driveway and this guy drives by in a truck.  In the back was this...

This baby turns real nice when the wind blows.

I know it's hard to see through my mess!  BUT!
This is AFTER I cleaned up a lot of it!!!  :)
Just look at this sweet baby!

Well, as I was standing there talking to my neighbor, Joy went over and decided to go into the yard this used to be in.  The guy had thrown it in the back of his truck, along with a lot of other stuff, and he was headed to the dump with this!!!!  CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT???  I mean,,, come on!!!

So, I go over to get Joy and was talking to this guy.  He's marrying the neighbor who just sold her house and who's yard we were in.  He's telling me about how he gets to take the last few things from the yard to the dump.  I "mentioned" I would love to bring this home ,,,,  you know ,,,, so he won't have to pay for the dump fees.

SCORE!!!  This will be at Sorticulture!!!

We brought it home.  More goodies to come soon!  We scored a couple things.

I'll miss my neighbor.  But I can't thank her enough for letting us take her "junk".

BTW ... Joy got an extra treat for being a bad girl and leaving the yard.  tee hee hee!!!!

Hope your holiday was nice.  Mine was!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!!!  Shell

A Great Alley Find

Hi guys!

Are we having fun yet???  I sure hope so!

Look what Joy and I found in the alley!!!

Look at this great big painting!!!

Isn't this funky!!!

I couldn't believe we found this.  It's about 4 1/2 feet X 3 1/2 feet.  It's an oil painting.  Or, at least I think it is.  The paint on it is raised and lumpy!  To all I know, it could be plaster under the paint.  BUT!  I know what I want to do with it.  IF,,, the paint will let me.

I want to make a subway print with the main streets in downtown Everett.  That's some thing I've done in a smaller size and a brand new canvas.  What I will "try" to do is place letters I cut out with my Cricut on the top of this.  Then I'll paint a plain color over the top of the entire print.  Then I'll pull off the letters to see what colors are left under the letter.  It should be a very colorful piece.

Only time will tell.  If all goes right this will go to Falala.  I got the okay to attend this year.  YAY!!!  More information as we get closer to Dec. 13th and 14th.

This weekend at We Do Art is the art walk.  It's from 4-7pm.  Come check it out.  I have a lot of new jewelry there and hope (weather permitting) to have some metal cut out Christmas goodies.  Think stars, stockings and snowmen!!!  They are tasting Wild Turkey at White Buffalo!!!

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!  Shell

A Trip to the Metal Recycler and Cinnamon Rolls!

Hi guys!

How are ya today???  I hope you are doing well.  All's well around here!  YAY!

I've been pretty lazy about getting rid of the cans lately.  Check out the size of this load and the cinnamon rolls the guys got!!!

My poor back yard!!!

I had to put ropes and a net over the cans.

I just kept pushing smaller bags into the netting that
was already pulled tight.  I was going to get
every single can to the recycler!

This puppy is full!!!

This load weighed in at 220 pounds!!!
This box went to We Do Art.

This box was left with the guys at the recycle center.

I have to tell you about these cinnamon rolls.  First,,, they are amazing.  Second,,,, they are so FAST and EASY!!!

I made these with puff pastry.  I couldn't help it.  I've been wanting to try this for a long time.  I noticed a pin on Pinterest where someone made them ,,, then, I did too.

I get my puff pastry at Cash -n- Carry here in Everett.  It's made for bakery's.  High quality.  Not cheap, but!  Fantastic.  You can buy it 2 ways - full sheets or smaller squares.  I buy the smaller squares.

I cut my 5 inch squares into 3 strips.

I let them thaw.

Spread melted butter on them.

Sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Rolled them up.

I placed them in a greased muffin tin.

Baked them at 375* about 25 minutes.

I immediately moved them from the pan to a plate.

I let them cool quite a bit, then frosted them.

These don't really need frosting,,, but hey!~  what can I say???   YUMMMMMM!  Give them a try.

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!

Bazaar Time!

Hi guys!

I'm so excited!  The bazaar is here!!!  Time to chat and visit and maybe even sell a few things.  I love shows.  These are the times when you see those people you have become friends with and you rarely see them.  YAY!  Come on down and visit!!!  I made a cinnamon roll cake!!!  O.M.G. is it good!!!  Want the recipe ,,,, ????  Click on this line and it will take you to the website where I found it.  YUM!  This cake is on the heavy side.  I made it Wednesday night and it was wonderful Thursday afternoon.  I can't wait to see what it's like Friday morning!!!

Here's a couple pictures of what my set up looks like.  I brought mostly jewelry,,, but!  You'll see!

I'm in the corner!  Perfect!!!

This is the fun piece I found at the
recycle center last summer!

I added one sweet linen napkin to each "tray"
and called it perfect!

This is one of the slats from the iron crib I found
this summer at the same recycle center.

This idea for a jewelry holder came from
Mamie Jane's blog.  Click on any
of this sentence to go see it!

Here's another one, just a little taller.

Some one gave me this camera and I thought it needed to be a clock.  To me, every thing needs to be a clock!  :)

Close up of the old photo.

What can I say???  I love clocks!!!

I hope you get a chance to stop in and say HI!!!
